American songwriter, author, poet, casting director, literary critic, and entrepreneur. Primary creator of the "Reviews by Cat Ellington" bibliographic series. Her multidisciplinary body of work, spanning literature (beginning with her literary criticism in 1979 for her first-written review of Eleanor Clymer's "Hamburgers and Ice Cream for Dessert"), a 24-genre musical catalog (beginning with her first written song, "The Baby's Song," in 1981), and film (beginning with her casting director and production assistant duties on "Dual Mania" in 1993), is documented by the Library of Congress, VIAF, and the National Library of Australia. Cat Ellington has been active in the arts for over 40 years. In the music industry, she has been a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) since 2003, a member of the Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) since 2020, and has held a Gold Membership in the Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) since 2022. Cat Ellington is the founder of The Black Jaguar Music Company, The Centaur Casting Agency, Quill Pen Ink Publishing, and the co-owner of Vital Vision Productions, LLC.
